New Years in Taos and Northern New Mexico

There’s no better place to start the new year than in Taos or one of its neighboring villages. Here in a nutshell are the main community events that visitors are welcome to attend as we say goodbye to 2014, and welcome to 2015.

NEW YEAR’S EVE

Town of Taos – Parties at many Taos pubs. Some highlights:
Bryan Hayes at the Adobe Bar in Taos Inn.
Big Party at Old Martina’s Hall in Ranchos (dinner included, reservations required).
Costume Ball at KTAO Solar Center with Vanilla Pop.
Unsung Pearls Burlesque at Taos Mesa Brewing.
Katy P and the Business at the Alley Cantina.
The Boo Radley’s at Sagebrush Inn Cantina.

Taos Ski Valley – Torchlight Parade and Fireworks begin at 6:00pm. After the fireworks, countdown to the New Year in the Martini Tree Bar. Live entertainment by Radio La Chusma. See TSV Chamber’s calendar.

Sipapu Ski Resort – Wednesday is always free movie night at Sipapu. Family-friendly flicks from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Learn more.

Red River – At the Ski Area, Rail Jam at 5:30pm followed by Fireworks and Torchlight Parade at 7:00pm. Local pubs have live entertainment: Mark’s Midnight Carnival Show at Bull O’ the Woods, 9:00pm; DJ Breakaway at Black Diamond Grill, 9:00 to 1:00; Black & White Gala at the Motherlode Saloon. Red River Community House hosts an Old Fashioned New Year’s Eve Party, 7:30 to 10:00. Pizza, Music and Games. Kids welcomed! RedRiver.org has all the details.

Angel Fire – Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at the base of the mountain from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Special dinners and entertainment planned at The Elements at Angel Fire Country Club and the Village Haus. Reservations suggested. AngelFireResort.com will tell you more.

NEW YEAR’S DAY

Taos Pueblo – Turtle Dance, 8:00am to 1:00pm. No photography allowed.

The Village of Eagle Nest — Polar Bear Plunge at the lake, 9:00 to 10:00am Learn more.
