Taos Fall Arts Festival’s Taos Open exhibition
Guadalupe Parish Gym. The 45th annual festival celebrates the visual arts and artists of Taos County. It encourages emerging artists and creates a venue where Taos artists can exhibit and market their works.

October 4 – 5, 2019
36th annual Taos Wool Festival
Kit Carson Park and nearby venues. A look at traditional and contemporary fiber artistry; textile workshops; guest llamas, sheep and other woolly animals.

Judy Chicago: The Birth Project from NM Collections
Harwood Museum of Art. Pioneering feminist artist, Judy Chicago collaborated with more than 150 needle workers between 1980 and 1985 to create dozens of images combining painting and needlework that celebrate the birth process – from the painful to the mythical.

Colchas and the Stitch that Defined a Region
Harwood Museum of Art. Spanning continents and centuries, the Northern New Mexican colcha is a journey of craft, culture, and geopolitics that is defined by the hands of New Mexican women. The colchas in this exhibition are from the museum’s collection, borrowed from a local collection and from the New Mexico Museum of Art.

Alicia Stewart: Unfinished . . .
Harwood Museum of Art. Alicia Stewart’s death at age 18 was a tragedy not only for her family and friends, but perhaps for the future world of art as well. This exhibition is the first museum showing of Stewart’s work and is curated by Lucy Lippard.

Susan Folwell: Through the Looking Glass
Harwood Museum of Art. Work by Santa Clara Pueblo artist Susan Folwell (Blue Mountain). The artist’s narrative-driven ceramics dynamically respond to her own curated selection of Taos Society of Artists’ works on view in this exhibition.

Jonathan Blaustein: Party City is the Devil
Harwood Museum of Art. Jonathan Blaustein is an artist, writer, and educator based in Taos. This series of photographs uses party supplies as a metaphor for the absurdist, runaway over-consumption that is depleting the world’s resources, and changing its climate.

Marjorie Eaton: A Life In Pictures
Taos Art Museum at the Fechin House. A glimpse into Eaton’s (1901-1986) personal life through letters, photographs and personal effects as well as her paintings and photographs.
