Meet the High Road Artists

High Road to Taos artists open their studios to visitors the last two weekends of September.

By Janet Webb, September 24, 2015

The last two weekends of September are extraordinary for several reasons: fall colors are beginning to appear in the mountains, Taos Fall Arts Festival begins in Taos, and the High Road to Taos artists open their studios to visitors.

I visited some of the studios and galleries in Penasco, Ojo Sarco, Chamisal, and Truchas last weekend, missing Chimayo on this visit, unfortunately. But Chimayo with its santurario and artists’ studios is a must-see destination on the High Road whatever the season. Here are some iPhone shots from my tour. Map your drive in advance with the HRA tour map, available on their website.
