Ojo Caliente Announces Opening of New Wellness Resort

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs has acquired Sunrise Springs near Santa Fe, a wellness resort offering an integrative spa, therapeutic programs.

Following its tradition of offering restorative and rejuvenating experiences, the owners of Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs in Taos, New Mexico have acquired Sunrise Spring near Santa Fe. The 70-acre property is being re-visioned as a new generation of health and wellness resorts offering an integrative spa and therapeutically-designed programming for those seeking healthy living, rejuvenation, and greater meaning and connection in their lives. The programming is guided by four evidence based principles: Nature Bathing, Digital Detox, Learning Through Experience and Food as Medicine.

Sunrise Springs defines integrative wellness as a blend of Eastern and Western therapeutic practices, and Native American teachings, designed to create harmony between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of well-being. At the center of the property is a Medicine Wheel, which has many different meanings and uses across a variety of cultures. The Medicine Wheel has inspired Sunrise Springs’ approach to integrative wellness, and is used as a blueprint to assist guests in understanding and addressing specific life circumstances (e.g. jobs, relationships, and illness).

The Sunrise Springs’ Integrative Therapeutic Spa (ITSPA) fuses the expertise of an integrative medical clinic with the rejuvenating and restorative practices of a wellness spa. Unlike other health and wellness resorts, Sunrise Springs also offers integrative behavioral healthcare to its guests. ITSPA services include an Integrative Wellness Evaluation, nutritional assessment, acupuncture and chiropractic care, psychotherapy, stress evaluation, spiritual counseling, and a wide range of spa services including hydrotherapy. Customized Integrative Wellness Plans are developed with the guests to address their therapeutic goals, and to create sustainable, healthy living practices to incorporate into their daily lives at home. At Sunrise Springs guests have access to a team of highly-credentialed healthcare providers all in one location. Together they collaborate on the best wellness care for that individual. Imagine having a medical doctor, mental health counselor, acupuncturist, massage therapist and fitness coach under one roof sharing information with you about the best approach to your health and wellness?

The 90,000 sq. ft. facility is comprised of thoughtfully-designed spaces including a greenhouse and culinary classroom, two dining spaces, yoga studio, fitness studio, swimming pool, and multiple art spaces all of which embody the textures and tones of the high desert. Accommodations include 20 spacious and well-appointed casitas with gas fireplaces and private courtyards, and 32 resort-style guest rooms overlooking the property’s sacred Medicine Wheel.

“There is intention behind every aspect of Sunrise Springs,” says Executive Director, Dr. David Hans. “In each waking moment, guests are afforded the opportunity to learn, grow, and THRIVE.”

Sunrise Springs Wellness Resort will open in August 2015. For more information, please visit: http://sunrisesprings.com
