Art in your in-box. This is a labor of love and we want to be sure all New Mexico art lovers know about it!
The team here at Webb Design Inc. has developed a system for sending a weekly calendar of art events occurring in Taos and its neighboring communities to opt-in subscribers. The first two weekly e-Calendar emails have gone out to almost 500 people. The next email will go out September 3, and then each Wednesday thereafter.
The core calendar is an aggregation of the online calendars of the major arts presenters in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Center for the Arts, SOMOS (the literary society of Taos), and Couse-Sharp Historic Site. Because we built all four websites, we were able to merge their contentonto TaosArtCalendar.com by piping all four into one feed. To make the end result more complete, we created an online form that anyone–any gallery or artist hosting a public event, including those in Angel Fire, Red River, the High Road villages and communities as geographically diverse as Farmington and Clayton–can submit to. It just needs to be about ART.
The emailed e-Calendar focuses on one- and two-day art and cultural events, however TaosArtCalendar.com also lists exhibitions and art workshops in separate sections.
We created this website and the weekly e-Calendars because we saw the need. No other calendar focuses only on art. And with TCA, SOMOS, and Harwood databases info is accurate. Also important to me as an art event attendee was that it work on my smartphone. It does.
The single commercial aspect to the eCalendar is a rotating side column list of ten BeyondTaos.com art businesses with hyperlinks. A thank-you to our paying clients.
To sign up to receive each week’s art events go to taosartcalendar.com and subscribe through the form in the top right corner.
If you host film, theater, art events or art workshops, please post them! No charge. No strings. taosartcalendar.com/submit
