#1 | Art Studio Weekend
August 31- September 3 (Labor Day) • Artists throughout Taos County open their studios, Chama Valley’s annual art tour begins and Indian Market happens in Farmington.

TAO (Taos Artist Organization) Studio Tour
TAOS: Throughout Taos, 10:00am-5:00pm. Shop for original art at the working studios of over 40 local Taos artists.

Chama Valley Studio Tour
CHAMA: Downtown Chama and surrounding areas along hwys 64/84, 9:00am-5:00pm. Art studio tour and art festival with local artists opening their studios to the public. Galleries and open spaces feature over 40 artists from Northern New Mexico.

Totah Festival Indian Market and Powwow
FARMINGTON: Farmington Museum, 5-7:00pm Fri, all day Sat-Sun. Native American juried fine arts and crafts show and marketplace, Indian rug auction, and powwow competition.

September 7-9 • Big Barn Dance Music Fest with Michael Hearne and friends fills Kit Carson Park and Rio Costilla invites visitors to its artists’ studios and Larry Bell’s exhibition of guitars and art continues at Harwood Museum of Art.

16th Annual Michael Hearne Big Barn Dance Music Festival
TAOS: Kit Carson Park, from noon each day. Experience some of the most diverse and well-respected names in Traditional Country, Americana and Folk music, hosted by Taos’ beloved Michael Hearne.

Rio Costilla Studio Tour

September 14-16 • The PASEO 2018 lights up Taos Historic District, while up north NeoRio brings art to the Wild Rivers Area and Bluegrass fills the Town of Red River.

NeoRio 2018 – “Roots ~ Raices”
QUESTA: Montoso Campground, Wild Rivers, Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, 4-9:00pm. Artists delve into “Roots ~ Raices,” with art installations along the rim of the Rio Grande gorge, food, music and more. Free.

September 21-23 • Taos Fall Arts Festival opens its “Taos Open” exhibition, Red River has simultaneous folk music and arts/crafts fairs, and the High Road art villages welcome visitors to meet their artists.

21st Annual High Road Art Tour, first weekend
HIGH ROAD VILLAGES: The High Road to Taos, from Sipapu to Chimayo, 10-5:00pm. Visit over 40 artists in their studios and homes. See painting, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, weavings, wood crafts, retablos and more.

San Geronimo Days
TAOS PUEBLO: Taos Pueblo plaza area, noon-4:30pm Saturday; 8-5:00pm Sunday. San Geronimo (Saint Jerome) is the Patron Saint of Taos Pueblo. This is the most significant event for the Taos Pueblo people, including a colorful mix of culture and tradition. The day begins with traditional footraces and continues with an all day open air market with artisans from different tribal communities coming from near and far. As a community coming and walking a fine line of maintaining our cultural beginnings and traditions of trade and sharing in a modern context, we open our home to the world to come and experience a day of who we are as Taos Pueblo people. All are welcome. (No cameras.)
